As glorious as the bay can be, Long Pond offers a unique opportunity for solitude, calm water, and DUCKS!

Chow time
While many of Crosby's summer experiences have been exceptional, perhaps it is in the common and neccessary that the brightness of his soul shines forth.

Making His Folks Proud
While playing catch and saying please are two of the more impressive recent advancements, they don't compare to Crosby's having taken to reading by himself. (Please ignore the orientation of the text.)

Back to the Beach
The rain finally let up, and like Noah loosing the animals, parents wearily unlatched the fevered cabin doors and the babes of Brewster flocked to the beaches. Crosby's complete naivete of social boundaries continued as he shamelessly inserted himself in each play scene we attempted to pass, and exhibited a keen fondness for shovels. The kindness of kids shown through the faces of the disshoveled playmates and Crosby practiced his "Hi's" and "thank you's". When finally apart and focused on his mother Crosby showed us both that he is but a couple decades from the triple crown, and, yes, probably a lefty.

Not wind nor rain nor stormy seas can keep Crosby off the flats
To watch Crosby stomp through the sand, tidal pools and rivers, as the wind tears down the sandbar, could not be sweeter. Crosby managed to sustain the thrill for a while before falling face first into a river which earned him a soggy ride home on his Dad's shoulders.
Rainy Day Pavilion Play
This summer was blessed by fine weather, and so Crosby rarely donned his slicker, but these past few days have been quite a different story. Yesterday's 50 knot gusts have yielded to today's driving drizzle. Inside the pavilion the wet floors still hold enough traction for Crosby to run and jump and bush a broom.

The Boy's Boathouse
While one may have guessed the boathouse to become Crosby's favorite building at camp, one could not have guessed with what fervor he would embrace every facet of the building. From sweeping and hiding Andy's dust pans, taking down boat clipboards and stealing Andy's dry erase markers, shouting in megaphones. And tearing Andy's tide chart, disassembling the office and throwing neatly stowed tools, washing off his feet and picking leaves off Andy's plants, to playing with rope and anchors, the boathouse has been something of a wonderland for Crosby John.

Ferry Ride Adventure
As do all good things, Crosby's weekend on Nantucket visiting Dean came to an end. The ferry ride home tested Crosby's sea legs and sea stomach as 2-4 ft waves broke on the beam of the Freedom Ferry. Crosby has requested the Hyannis ferry for next time.

Nantucket Yacht Club
Crosby brought his parents to the NYC to cheer on Dean's parents in the first annual Cross Island Cup. In between points Crosby explored the club, its waterfront, met some very nice boys, and ventured to the nearby playground.

Nantucket Beaches
Just in case Crosby was growing tired of his Brewster Bay Beaches, Crosby and his folks walked down the road from Dean's house to the ocean beach where waves broke in tubes upon the sand. Crosby seems to always be at home on a beach.

Visiting Dean on Nantucket
Crosby and his folks en route to Dean's house on Nantucket. Crosby loved seeing the ducks in the harbor and feeling the wind in his hair, but the bouncy boat was tiring and he was happpy to see the Gray Lady rise from the horizon.

LP Binky Clip
If there were a merit badge for 1-handed construction of a duct tape binky clip while holding a screaming toddler in the other arm, Crosby would like to nominate his Dad. Feel free to second the nomination, and happy birthday Brian.

Boating Basics
Inevitably children show aptitude for myriad skills. Occassionally these talents are unique within the family, however, often it is proven that the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Crosby Afloat
It isn't often that the Fays get to float about Cape Cod Bay together, but of those journeys none have been more comfortable, more lengthy, or more photographed. Crosby nearly made it till sunset, but still fully enjoyed his dinner, and his sea legs are coming along as well.
